The Winter Swell

Has anyone been down to the beach in the last week to see the surf?  Its been huge, the thought of going out in those conditions would never enter my mind.  Others though (hard core surfers,grommets and generally crazy folk) are out in big numbers as we discovered last weekend at Collaroy beach and they are 'lovin it'!  I prefer to watch from the shore with my trusty camera at hand hoping to catch that 'shot', well I didn't get any award winners but a few which I kind of like as this area of photography is also not something that I excel in yet maybe one day....

These guys had so much fun holding the chains round the pool and getting hammered.
